Well today I’ll be discussing Topic #1 – Where is the Love?
So I help out with this program called “blank blank”, any who, I'm a volunteer, you can say and in the summer time I work there. I am a counselor to 9th through 12th graders; males & females. On Saturday I walked in for a surprise visit, yah!!! They were so excited… and so was I. However I nonetheless was disappointed when I saw a female student of mine with a black eye. Like wtf? Over a guy! Now I don’t know the whole situation to its entity however it had to do something with a girl not liking his new girlfriend. What is that? I understand that they’re young, but these incidents are so very common in everyday life regardless of age. I am a victim of hate, however I’m also guilty of committing this act as well. I know it’s sad, but at least I’m honest. However it isn’t right at all. I propose that we as young females and males, as citizens of this country, and as African Americans, Asians, Americans or whatever, try our best to cease the hatred. I mean just a little bit. That’s all I ask. What is hate and hating? What does it really mean? And what are the consequences, results and effects of hating?
Hate is defined as to have strong distaste for something or to dislike somebody or something intensely. Urbandictionary.com states that hate is often seen as just an extreme form of anger, which is sometimes true. People are driven to hate people due to the fact that the person(s) may anger them in some way. And that anger is taken very far, for whatever reason. Okay “hating” is said to be when one person puts down the success or fortune of others due to jealousy. And according to urbandictionary.com, Hating is the end result of being a hater. Hating is wide spread, very popular and a highly enjoyable past time for many. Contrary to popular belief, hating is not due to jealousy [I strongly disagree] but rather the good feeling of putting someone down while simultaneously increasing your own ego. Many victims are hated on because of their success, but many more are hated due to their lack of it. Most hating is a result of the victims bragging and/or 'My turds don't stink' attitude. So my friends this is hate and hating. Now lets use both words in a sentence.
For Example:
“Ew, why you hatin?”
“Waste your time hating me...I don't give a shit.”
Lets see….. hmph?
“Yo you see that chick hatin because I go out with Lamont and her ass want him”
and lastly
“Bitch, don't be hatin!!!”
Urbandictionary.com even takes the time out to go into detail about “Hatin Azz Hoes”, “haters”, “hata”, ”hatin’” and some others, so when you get the chance you can go take a look at that. Take a look at some other words on http://www.urbandictionary.com.
And I just read “HATING WON’T MAKE YOU PRETTY!” keep that in mind boys and girls.
Now what are the consequences, results and effects of hating? Consequences --> Well from my observation of “real life” I’ve seen a lot but not as much as some, however it has been enough to understand that these situations happen. That made sense, right? Well let’s see fights happen, feelings are hurt, people sadly get beat up or jumped really bad or just killed. Heard of it, seen it & I’ve lived, so I know. Results --> sometimes you have an never ending “beef” or “fight” and it can lead to individuals fighting and not even knowing or remembering the reason why. Effects are simple --> people are hurt mentally, physically, and emotionally. Things happen and it’s not always for the best.
So no more looking at each other and saying negative things. Have you ever heard the words “if you don't have nothing nice to say then don say it at all”. It’s stupid to give off unnecessary energy. What’s the point? Why are you looking at her like that? Why are you treating him like that? Is it really that serious? No nothing is ever that serious, maybe if you would spend more time criticizing yourself than others than you would be doing what you needed to do as a person. Like really!!!! What’s more important than you’re own well being? Firstly, you are giving who ever you’re hating on waaaaaaay to much attention. If you don’t like them, what are you looking at them for? My point exactly!!! Life is so much bigger than you and me; it’s more about your environment. Now if you don’t understand what I’m saying than I see that you were placed on this world to just do that: HATE. Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve hated in the past, and I’ve went out of my way to do stupid things. But believe me, I’ve learned. I don’t waist my time. You take more time out your day to think about the next person and you get frustrated and more stressed out and 9 times out of 10 that person probably doesn’t think about you or they probably don’t even know who you even are. Smh. #imjustsayin --> twitter trending topic <-- but hey I’m just a random person blogging about random things because I’m a random person. *Sarcastically speaking*… lol People hate people so much they’ve decided to make a website called www.whyihatepeople.com. On this website they discuss just that “why they hate people”. That time they are spending writing about how much they hate someone could be used constructively. People have gone so far as to make a “The Why Do People Hate You?” Test at http://www.okcupid.com/tests/take?testid=7469754626913510072. And yes I took the test just to see what type of nonsense this was. I scored --> The perfect human (16% Cruelty, 39% Anal, 15% Pushover). The results go on to say “Congratulations. You're easy-going, friendly and know when to stand up for yourself. You're perfect. In fact, you're a little bit too perfect. Chances are, hoards of jealous people are plotting your demise at you read this. Tough luck, pal.”
I guess right!
Okay people, people, people stop downing someone else to make yourself look or feel better. Many people are guilty of finding flaws in others so that they can make their selves feel better about their selves. “Well I’m fat, but at least I’m not that fat.” It shouldn’t be like that. Because someone hates they can lose a spot out trying to get a job or vice versa. It isn’t good at all! Stop being mad because that’s not your boyfriend or girlfriend, or because they look better, they’re taller or smaller. STOP, STOP, STOP. Stop letting someone else control your life because that’s what you’re doing. What power does that person(s) have over you? “Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent” said by Eleanor Roosevelt.
People hate what they really are; they hate their selves. For example, loud people hate loud people or HOES hate other HOES. So stop hating yourself. I’m sure that deep down in your soul you can go without hating someone for at least two point three seconds. I’m sure that won’t kill you, but I know hating will kill you. #Imjustsayin…

Ok so after some serious consideration I finally decided to write this blog. I’ve been thinking about this issue for a while now. However I haven’t had the time to write it. So here it is. “We lie too”. Males I think you might just like this… :) you ready!
Okay so in the “relationship” world males are looked at really bad. They are labeled as the dogs, or the liars or put into the “niggas ain’t shit” category. Well what about females? We lie too. This is from personal experience. Its like girls, females, or women, whatever, don’t want there men to flirt with others, or talk to others, or give their numbers out, however we turn right around and do the same thing with other men. Now I’m not saying that all females do this, nor am I saying that all men do it, but either way it’s wrong. It’s been plenty of situations when women find out that their man is “cheating” or talking to another female. They get so mad and they curse them out and tell them they “ain’t shit” and then two minutes later they are getting ready to go out with their “side nigga”. Before we do anything, lets define “cheating”. The word cheating is defined as to deceive somebody, break rules to gain advantage, be unfaithful or escape something. According to urbandictionary.com, cheating is when one person has a significant other and performs any type of intimate acts with another person. Also urbandictionary.com goes on to say common forms of cheating which include kissing, feeling each other up, vaginal, anal, oral sex and any other contact that involves the lips, hands, and genitals. Emotional cheating involves forming a close bond with someone of your preferred gender and basically forming a second relationship. This may or may not include physical cheating.
This my friends, is cheating. Now there is such a thing as “side chick” but you never heard of “side man”, “side nigga” or “side anything” in reference to females. But there is, we’ve just haven’t taken the time to name it. And even I am guilty of this. I’ve looked back on my life as I'm writing this, maybe I should say I look back over these last 3 years in college… well anyway, I look back and I see a pattern happening. I’ve always been the girl out of my group of friends that’s had the guy. Now I’m not saying boyfriend, just a guy. One acts up and I call another one, I’m quick to curse him out about being kissed by another girl but I’ll have a friend spend the night. And at the end of the day neither one of us are right nor wrong. No one in this situation holds ties with anyone else but their selves. It’s my “side nigga”. I mean really no one addresses the situation and you wonder why? Is it because women, girls, or females lie and get away with certain things? Now I’m not saying that any of this is good or smart, however the reason why men are considered or labeled as the dogs, or the liars or put into the “niggas ain’t shit” category is because they get caught and aren’t smart enough to get their selves out of the situation. Nor do they pay attention to the females in this scenario, it’s like everything your doing she’s probably doing it 2x or 3x worse than you. You have two other girls well I had six. And this is just how our society works. I remember guys use to say I have my starting five and now girls say the same thing and no one bothers to catch it. I think as females, including myself that we should stop and slow down and think about what we’re doing here. We are playing with these males’ minds, jut like they play with ours, forcing them to believe and think that they are the only ones who cheat, flirt and talk to others. However you’re talking to 2 or 3 other guys and your guy might just actually be faithful. I mean we understand the whole “rebound
Okay, okay, okay.. So I have a lot to say, but only a few minutes to say it. But I want to first start of by saying Congratulations to Christian Newson, the ACE, and to the entire line of Bloody Pi FA09.
It’s really exciting to see your friends do great and positive things with their lives. Speaking of Greek life I want to say that the NPHC at Morgan State University is soooo on point. Morgan State University NPCH is almost complete with the exception of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. I haven’t seen the NPHC. It’s just exciting.
Ummm.. What else?
These two other topics will have to be postponed due to this being finals week. I should be studying right now instead of blogging. :)

“Never understood why our country was named the “UNITED” States, it should be named the “DIVIDED” States.
It’s just weird to even think that this country is and will ever be united. Either it’s republicans vs. democratic, black vs. white, good vs. evil or the old vs. the young. We will never see eye to eye. Just recently President Obama gave a speech to high school in Arlington, VA. Which probably was the best thing that these children will ever be involved in right? WRONG! Parents were pulling their children out like they were preventing them from getting some type of disease. CRAZY! President Obama’s speech was basically just a pep talk for the students to get serious about their education. He talked about three students who overcame major obstacles in their life; you know everything that hopefully a student has heard at least once in their life. And then he also mentioned that if you felt sick to stay home, “WASH YOUR HANDS”, which will be another topic in my next blog… However, I don’t understand the problem in giving the President a chance to speak to your children. I honestly would’ve been honored, whether it was President Clinton, President Bush or President OBAMA> I would’ve gave my child the opportunity to decide on their own if the want to be apart of history and I would want them to be able to have their own decisions. That’s also giving them the right that they need to learn how to exercise at an early age. Because that’s what happening in college, students are exercising their thoughts, minds and ideas. And as an African American, I understand that sometimes we, African Americans, can look for injustice-ness when is comes to another African American, but this shouldn’t be over looked at all. Like really, there are a lot of things going on wrong with picture! For one he’s the President and you don’t want him to “corrupt” or “brain-wash” your child’s mind! GET REAL! Man if your children want to think or believe something then it’s going to happen. If I really wanted to I could go deeper and deeper into the history and psychological matter behind the reason why this country is divided and why it will continue to be divided. But I’m sure that you know the answer.
I just love my major so much, Speech Communications, it's so amazing. You learn so much and you interact with your Professor all the time. It's so great. I can honestly say that I learn something all the time, no matter what I really learn. So today in my Health Communication/Special Topics class we were discussing with my Professor, Professor Mindel about how life really is. She told us about her daughter, for the 80th time, about how she has this master plan for school and trade school. We, as humans, all have this master plan to succeed but you never really know where the road we are on might actually take you. She told us about this quote that her father always told her, “Man plans, God Laughs”. I couldn’t help but think about it more and more.
Life doesn’t really turn out the way we plan for it to be. When I was younger, probably in high school, I had this big plan. Remember the questions “In five years, what will you be doing?” or “where do you see yourself in 5 years?” ‘Well…” and I would go into this long drawn out dream or story of how I wanted my life to be. Well I just realized two minutes ago that it’s not going to happen at all. I’ll be still in school another year, which push’s me back, then I’m not marrying the person who I said I was going to be married to and nor am in the right state of mind I thought I would be in either. This is crazy. Not that I hate my life, because I love every bit of it, the people I met, the people I’m friends with and the enemies that I’ve gained, lol. life for me could probably never be better. I just never thought it would turn out like this. So now what do I do?
I guess I can continue to plan, more and more each day. Who would’ve thought that my mother would’ve passed and who would have thought that I wouldn’t be friends with my friends from high school any more. Nobody would’ve thought anything, but I’m sure God would’ve already known. Lol it’s funny to me.
